Competition For A Club Nickname

I would like to throw out the challenge for past and current club members to come up with an identity for our club, ie Parramatta are the Eels or Souths are the Rabbitohs for example. We want our own unique identity for the club.

When we get heaps of ideas we will organise a vote.

If nothing suitable is found we can wait - this is something we should not rush. A BIG PRIZE awaits the member who comes up with the winning suggestion.

You can submit your suggestions through this website by clicking on "Comments" below, put you suggestion in the box and then click the button beside "Name/URL" and enter your name.

  1. Someone left "The City Centurions" on the old website. Who would like to claim it?

I think the "City United Gorillas" would be perfect. People would never forget us and the players can really have some fun with the name and it'd look fantastic on our cricket shirts!!! We could even use the term 'Silverbacks' to classify the veterans/life members in our club. Come on lads get behind it. "GO City, GO City, GO G0 City GOrillas!!!
Joke: Q. How do you make a Gorilla Stew??
    A. You keep him waiting for three hours!

  10. I tried to think of my own. Be independent. However, all I can see is a gorilla. A gorilla that looks like Dan. Gorillas in the Mist. King Kong. Donkey Kong. Mark Sweeney's chest hair. Gorilla Night at Endevour Park. The end of year trip to Taronga Zoo. Stop!

Gorillaz has its merits mitchell not bad
How about the Double Scoops (icecream/bat)
    Kookaburras is classic cricket
Pajamas- one day strips from the 80s
Allblacks- this would lead to a lot of sun stroke- but on the plus side you could play all day and catch an afternoon wedding- already dressed for the occasion... Good luck boys!

  14. Sorry Black-Backed Gorillas, no comments allowed unless a real name is given as there are prizes involved. I think we've canvassed the Gorilla comments enough for now, so no more comments or suggestions about Gorillas will be published. Its time for suggestions, not assessments ... you teachers should know the difference! Thanks,

"The Champions" may be a good name as it may be an incentive to uphold the name. After winning a game I can imagine them singing the tune,we are the Champions of the world.
